Irgiredmet is a large Scientific and Research Institute of the gold mining industry of Russia.
The history of our Institute is inseparably linked with the origin and development of such branches of mining industry as gold mining, diamond mining, rare metals mining etc.
In 1871 the gold smelting laboratory Irgiredmet was established in Irkutsk. It dealt with the gold mined from goldfields of Eastern Siberia. Its total staff was 11 employees. 19.2 tons of high-grade gold concentrate were delivered to the lab for remelting in the first year of its existing. In addition to gold smelting, the laboratory carried out chemical analyses of all kinds of ores and non-metallic raw materials that were delivered from different regions of Siberia. In 1930 Irgiredmet was defined as the leading research institute in diamond and gold mining industry in the USSR. In 1993 Irgiredmet was reorganised into a joint-stock company.
Today Irgiredmet is a multifunctional institute that deals with all the tasks: from geological field assessment to gold mining working projects and equipment supplying. The Institute works out advanced technologies of precious and non-ferrous metals mining as well as diamond mining and introduces them into a commercial level.

Irgiredmet’s technologies and developments are used in various projects. Virtually all gold mining plants of the former USSR are worked out on the basis of Irgiredmet’s technological researches and procedures.
Irgiredmet established its own Design and Development Division. The Division develops about 30 placer and primary gold deposits projects, feasibility studies for participation in different tenders and other technical documentation every year. We also have implemented various projects for analytical laboratories, mining operation and concentration plants. During recent 5 years Irgiredmet has developed over 20 plans and specifications for mining of gold placers located in various gold mining regions of Russia.

Irgiredmet arranges different equipment supplies for quick projects commissioning. In accordance with our clients’ desires we supply Russian, Chinese and Australian equipment, materials and reagents. We make also complete turn-key projects.
Since 1998 Irgiredmet issues an information and advertising magazine Zolotodobycha, which contains information about new technologies and equipment of gold mining industry. The magazine circulates around all Russian gold mines, committees of natural resource, administration of gold mining regions.
